I ordered purchased Mujeres Cafeteras - Carolina Ramirez Edition 12 oz bag and I must say I thoroughly enjoy the coffee. You can tell it was recently ground and it smelled good when brewing. It has a sweet taste and it was really smooth. Their customer service rep was very friendly and I received the coffee pretty quickly by UPS. I will buy from this company again!

Before meeting Jesus at The Hermit Café, I had no idea there was a difference between commercial and specialty coffee. Through my continuous visits and conversations with him, my knowledge and appreciation for coffee have grown tremendously. Jesus doesn’t just sell coffee—he provides an experience. His passion for the craft is evident, and every visit feels like a masterclass in specialty coffee. Highly recommend!

This was a fantastic experience. Jesus gave us a lecture on the entire process fo coffee making, with a focus on Colombian coffee. He taught us how to cup so that we could compare different beans, roasts, and wash processes. I make coffee with hand pour, and he had some great pointers as well. Jesus made me look good: I had a friend visiting from Japan who loves coffee, and this was the perfect thing to take him to do. If you want to learn more about it and you're in Laredo, definitely get in touch with him. Oh, and it helps that his beans make great coffee. I recommend the Hermit Blend 2.0 and The Natural, but if you're fortunate enough to do a cupping with him, you can find something that fits your tastes. Thanks again!

The owner is not only generous, but also incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his craft. It's evident that he takes great pride in his work, even visiting farms to hand-select the finest beans from Colombia. During my visit, he generously offered me some beans to try for my coffee tasting, and I was thrilled to sample the "Mujeres Cafeteras." These beans were a true delight, with a flavor profile reminiscent of a chocolate-dipped orange. The acidity was a refreshing surprise—nothing like the under-extracted acidity I’ve encountered elsewhere. Instead, this high-quality bean offered a welcomed brightness that elevated the entire tasting experience. The roast was a lovely medium to dark blend, leaning more towards the medium side, which I appreciated. I prepared a variety of drinks, including an espresso, cubanito, cortado, and latte, and I must say, each one was amazing!
